Ned Brines is a former client of mine before he got his MBA and became a small cap mutual fund manager. During the late 80's, we would discuss who he saw at lunch on Wilshire Blvd. in LA that day, figure out what stocks were going to be in play over the next month - we were right 85% of the time . He now has his own money management firm and shares his weekly newsletter with me. His insights for 2009 are a worthy read except he is wrong about USC(the west coast one) getting robbed by the BCS and the Lakers winning the NBA (the Celtics will pull it through - Christmas Day was a present!).
He can be read at Weekly Market Notes.
