In the last few years many of my clients have planned new "businesses" for their life after retirement. Sometimes it has been in an entirely new field, others it is a twist on their current profession such as limiting their hours and/or focusing on a specialty inside their field. These things vary from being a realtor, a temp doctor on cruise ships, to an interior decorator.
All of these things are possible if you have a plan. With longer life expectancies, they know they will need more income to enjoy retirement while supplementing their retirement savings. Mark Terry at BankRate has an article that can help you pplan that new venture in retirement called 7 Tips for Retirement Entrepreneurs.
